Results of the study on geomorphology and Quaternary deposits
for determining recent faults in the Pa Vinh hydroelectric dam

In this paper, the authors presented experiences about Quaternary and geomorphology studies for discovering the manifestation of recent faults in the relief and Quaternary sediments of small area of the Pa Vinh hydroelectric dam. The results of study have been showing that there is not any manifestation of active movement of the east-west trending fault cutting the dam both in the northern and the southern river bank.

The conclusion on the absence of this fault can be proved by field trip control, geophysical measurements and geological-engineering data.
