Study on geological characteristics of the Trường Sa Archipelago and DKI sea areas

During the 2009-2010 years, the Project "Survey on the marine topography and geology of the Spratly Archipelago and DKI Bank" was deployed in the Trường Sa Archipelago and DKI Bank. The Centre of Consultancy for Mineral-geological Investigation and Services together with other specialized divisions has synthesized recent data on features of regional geology, combined with newest discoveries by survey of the Centre. This gives an overview on the geological picture of this region. This article presents obtained results of research on geology, surface deposits and engineering geology of the study area.

Hopefully, these results will contribute a realiable basis for future scientific research.
