Geophysical methods used in the investigation and assessment of the prospect of limestone lying deeply under the Cenozoic cover conduce usually to hoped-for results and reach high economic-technical efficiency. In the East Nam Bộ region, during recent years, by the combination of traditional and modern methods geophysical works have been playing the main role in the determination of prospect areas, forming the basis for the establishment of exploration projects for limestone aiming to supply with raw materials to the Tây Ninh FiCo, Hà Tiên, An Phú and Minh Tâm Cement Factories in Bình Phước and Tây Ninh Provinces. The results of geophysical investigation have been helping the determine accurately the distributive areas, developing depth, dip of boundary surface with surrounding rocks, cover thickness, tectonic destruction zones, karstic caves, sedimentary interbeds, dolomitization of limestone, etc., significantly contributing in the assessment of prospect and determination of structure in the stage of investigation on these areas of industrial limestone raw materials.
