Abstract: White marble in Việt Nam in general, and in Yên Bái in particular, has mineral composition, chemical composition and whiteness meeting the requirement for use in many different industrial sectors of the country and making them capable to participate in the world mineral market. Yên Bái is a province having great potential in white marble, which can be used for producing dimensional stone, facing stone, fine and superfine calcium carbonate powder. At present, white marble is being extracted by some companies for producing various products to be sold in domestic market and export. With their high economic value and rather large resource potential, these resources should be reasonably managed, extracted, processed and used aiming to enhance the socio-economic efficiency and sustainable environmental protection.
