There
were many evidences of active tectonic movements in the coastal areas of Quảng Ngãi and Quy
Nhơn, namely as
following: Movement of Quaternary sediments; volcanic activities during Neogene - Quaternary period; the outcropping of hot
springs, uplift and subsidence landform; and the active faults. These
activities have significance in interpreting for geological hazard, especially geohazards by endogenous and exogenous activities. A
sub-meridian fault system is the youngest fault systems in the study area. And
in the study area, the activities of sub-meridian fault
creates a lifting unit, the local subsidence. The development of eroded
cliffs, triangle facets, washout, gully, landslide, toppling, fissured land
surface, eroded or corroded coastline are indirected
evidences to confirm the existence of recently tectonic activities happened in
the studied area. To propose some solution adaptation to minimize geological hazards in coastal areas of
Việt Nam. On that basis, the group of policies and
solution was proposed to prevent geohazards and serve
the sustainable development of coastal regions in general and research areas in
particular.
