Potentials of some major minerals in Vietnam

During the last nearly 70 years, the Geological Sector of Vietnam has carried out a large number of projects on basic geological survey, mineral prospecting and exploration. Nearly 5000 mineral occurrences and deposits have been discovered. Some kinds of mineral are of large total resources such as bauxite (~10 Bt.), titanium (~650 Mt.), coal (~48 Bt.), rare earth (~17 Mt.), apatite (~2.1 Bt.), silica sand (~123 Mt.), limestone for cement production (~7,7 Bt.), marble (~1,17 Bt.).
