Abstract. The
Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest
Park is a conservation
area located in the northwestern corner of Langkawi Geopark. The park contains
and conserves several geoheritage sites related to Cambrian sandstone of the
Machinchang Formation and Triassic Bukit Sawar Granite. The Langkawi Geopark
Infocentre, several information kiosks, information panels and geopark trails
are built and located within this geoforest park as part of the geopark
promotion and geopark education to common public. The Langkawi Research Centre
of University Kebangsaan Malaysia
which is conducting research related to
Langkawi Geopark is also located within the park.
