Abstract: The Fangshan Global Geopark of China lies at the junction of Fangshan District
of Beijing City, Laishui
County and Laiyuan
County of Hebei Province. The Fangshan Global Geopark
of China
was approved by UNESCO at the 2nd Global Geopark Conference on September 17,
2006. This success has not only appended Beijing
having a geopark of science type and nature scenery, but also promoted Beijing as the first
capital city with a global geopark. Meanwhile, the Fangshan Global Geopark is
also the first one of its kind in North China.
