This article
presents a new approach to establish the map of environmental radioactivity
from the airborne gamma-ray spectrometry data. The method to establish the map
of environmental gamma-ray dose rate in Nông Sưon, Quảng Nam
province from the airborrne gamma-ray spectrometry data showed results: The map
of environmental radioactivity in the Nong Son area accurately reflects the
environmental gamma-ray dose rate (1 m) that the maps of radioactive content of
U, Th and K have not shown yet. The distribution of the radioactive fields
related directly to the content of radioactive elements of the geological
objects in the study area. This result opens up a new method for mapping the
environmental gamma-ray dose rate at the corresponding scale instead of direct
measurement in areas where the airborne gamma-ray spectrum data was available.
The map of environmental gamma-ray dose rate for Nông Sơn area was
established and 04 areas with gamma-ray dose rate of >0.15 μSv/h are
identified, in which the anomalous clusters> 0.20 μSv /h, including:
Khe Hoa - Khe Cao; Cà Dy; Pà Lừa; An Điềm areas where have a
potential risk of affecting the natural radioactive environment coinciding with
the areas containing the radioactive ore bodies. The radioactive ore bodies
were identified during the geological and mineral mapping. Therefore,
exploiting and using this map to predict quickly the areas having the potential
risk of environmental influences and the radioactive mineral potentials during
measuring the airborne gamma-ray spectrum.
